Mee Mamak

Some people say that Swatow Lane Mee Mamak is good, I do agree to that but wait until you have tried Bangkok Lane Mee Mamak. Even just writing about it now, makes my mouth water. The recipe is handed down by his grandfather, I can only say he is the second best I have tasted. But who is the best??? His Grandfather!

Bangkok Lane mee mamak
The owner of the stall speak very fluent Hokkien. You can see he is always busy wiping his cooking area, chopping things and boiling sauces when he is not cooking noodles.
He does the noodles on very high heat as the Chinese would say ‘wok hei’. The noodles is fried with cuttle fish, potatoes, egg, bean sprouts and his own mixture of sauces, isĀ  topped with lettuce and a wedge of lime before serving.
